3.8 FIRE

In an outbreak of fire the cover provided under both the P&I and the Hull and Machinery covers may be involved. Contact should therefore to be made with the Company, both insurers and/or their respective local correspondents.

If the fire affects the structure of the vessel, it will primarily be the Hull and Machinery insurance which will be involved. In all other instances, where the fire affects the cargo or causes injury or death to individuals, the cover proved by the P&I insurer will be involved.

Should there be an outbreak of fire, the following action must be taken and evidence collected.
