The UK ‘s Modern Slavery Act 2015 entered into force in July 2016 . The Act is aimed at eradicating slavery and human trafficking by creating new criminal offences and imposing obligations on companies which operate in the UK. Such companies are required to make an annual statement setting what steps if any they are taking to eradicate slavery and human trafficking in its supply chain.
