2.8.7.4 RELATIVES ON BOARD
Some companies allow relatives of crew members on board. A relative may be familiar with the position held by the crew member, but cannot be expected to be familiar with the vessel and its environment.
When persons other than crew or non-fare paying passengers travel with the vessel, it is recommended that a hold harmless agreement is obtained in the form set out in Annex 4.
If the Company does not have procedures for relatives on board, the Master should ensureThe relative of the crew member should confirm in writing that the above precautions
have been taken.
