Guide to the HNS Convention
10.02.2016
The Hazardous and Noxious Substances Convention (HNS Convention) is one of several IMO liability conventions modelled on the successful Civil Liability Convention. In common with other members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, Gard supports the adoption and the fair and consistent operation of such IMO conventions.
However, the HNS Convention has not yet come into force. To encourage States to adopt the Convention, the IMO has published a short Guide to the HNS Convention with an explanation as to why it is needed.
