Incidents and claims relating to people are one of the most frequently occurring types of maritime claim. Liability may arise when crew members are injured or sick; when stevedores get injured during cargo operations, when passengers are delayed; when stowaways are found on board; and with search and rescue operations or refugees saved at sea.
