Gard announced today that it has recruited Michael Moon, currently a partner at the London-based solicitors, Bentleys Stokes and Lowless, as a Senior Defence lawyer to work in its Oslo office. He will join Gard on the 1st April, 2010.

The Regulations will require the "operators" of any ship carrying polluting and hazardous cargoes in bulk or of any other vessel above 10,000 gt to conclude a pollution clean up contract with a PRC Maritime Safety Agency (MSA) approved pollution response company before entering a PRC port.

Recent days have witnessed the most serious sea ice buildup around Bohai and northern Yellow Sea coast in the past thirty years, the location of major northern ports such as Bayuquan, Dalian, etc.

Problems at the Fujairah Anchorage and Khorfakkan storage facility

The Fujairah Anchorage has a travelling oil slik at the moment affecting vessels' hulls whilst vessels discharging at Khorfakkan appear to be frequently notified of shortlanding claims.
